I really enjoyed your message. It is so important to realize these truths. It so easy to get caught up in the day to day activities that we don't even realize that we are just going through the motions. It is wonderful to be apart of the body where we can encourage one another in the Lord. I think we all need to have fresh revelations of who God is and the message of the cross. I enjoy your straight forward messages. This generation needs truth in love not candy coated messages. Keep up the good work.

I think a lot of people in the church preach righteousness to "sinners" and forget the Gospel. We are so busy telling people what they should & shouldn't do... but really, if they don't want to have anything to do with God... why should they? It is the Holy Spirit who convicts people in matters of righteousness. We should not pontificate to the unsaved. Instead, we should be preaching the Gospel - that all is not lost. It is said that evangelism is just one beggar telling another beggar where to find food. As to original sin. i like your thoughts on that. I've always believed that what God meant when he said because of our choices we would toil the Earth until we died... was not actually him whacking us with a stick... it was a natural consequence of our knowledge of good and evil, our thinking we know what's best - we wanted to act independently from God, so we'd always strive to do it on our own. Jesus said that the way to heaven is to be childlike. A child knows it is dependent on it's parents for provision. That is the state we need to be with God. We need to accept his direction in our lives instead of making up laws and procedures that trip one another up.

God bless and regards

N

I'm one of the weird kids that liked going to church and enjoyed the routine.

Although I was always getting picked on for "backrow hustling", basically sitting the back row all the time.

I like the back row, and I can go back and forth with any Christian over the hardest of subjects.

Lately I've seen the do's and don'ts of the church causing people my age to just not want to talk about Jesus or anything remotely close.

However, I've also seen the opposite side where too much freedom and relaxed setting just makes people feel awkward about the whole thing.

It's an odd in between, but if God is truly behind the message (as we know he is) he'll bring us closer to what he wants...so I would think.

I like your post.
