If I had an experience similar to yours I would pray for the Spirit to reveal to me how to share this with them in a manner that will bear the most fruit for the kingdom. Rejection is unfortunately part of speaking truth, but try to speak it in a way that truth opens up their hearts to a greater depth and understanding of how much Jesus loves them. This is the reason He wants you to tell them because of His love for them. So engage that love into your ministry. Today many in the church do think that they are fine when the are missing that relationship with Him. When someone shares this with them it is often too hard for them to digest, and they want you to go away from them. I suggest that you pray that God will lead you to a fellowship with a vision like yours. This will be a place that can equip you in your giftings and you in theirs.
