Speaking in Tongues — A Discussion On The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Posted by in charismatic, the podcast | 0 comments

This week Dave and Steve try to cover the subject of speaking in tongues, but this time from the angle of asking specifically if it’s the one true initial evidence of receiving the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. Steve says yes, always, while Dave says almost always, and we take it from there basically.

We cover the usual passages this topic elicits, and look today in depth at Acts chapters 2, 8, 10, 15, and 19 mostly and had little time for much else, so it might be a topic we revisit in the near future, and spend a little bit of time in 1 Corinthians 14.

What does “do all speak in tongues” mentioned in passing in 1 Cor 12:30 refer to?

Are all tongues created equal?

Does the Bible really say that one needs an interpreter every time they speak in tongues?
