We trust the Lord is mightily blessing you and your loved ones and that you had a wonderful Christmas holiday and new year season.

As we enter the new year, and a new decade, we are making some notable changes to the way we do the Fire On Your Head site and podcast. Most obvious for now is our new site layout. We felt it was past time and the site had grown from simply being a multiple-authored blog, to a source of prophetic encouragement and Scriptural teaching, that we hope would strengthen your walk with Christ and understanding of spiritual and Scriptural principles. This has always been the purpose of both the site, and our sister site www.fireonyourhead.com–which hosts our podcast mp3s.

As we enter the new year, we’re expanding the number of authors interested in being involved and contributing more articles. It’s our desire that hopefully in the months to come we continue our momentum and growth, and eventually become comparable to other major online Christian magazine sites, but yet remaining true to our DNA of what Fire On Your Head is–to stoke the flames of revival in your heart and deepen you in the Scriptures in subjects distinct to charismatic and apostolic Christianity. That’s one of the reasons why you read our articles and signed up for our e-mail updates, correct?

Fire On Your Head Podcast

On the most recent episode of the Fire On Your Head Podcast we posted just before Christmas, we were privileged to have back on the show author and speaker S.J. Hill, and world traveler Gregg Montella for some serious sacred cow killing which covered:

Do holiness and happiness mix?
What is the difference between fearing God and being afraid of Him?
Do accountability relationships/groups really produce desired results, such as holiness?
What does the Bible really mean when it teaches about ‘death to self’?

Make sure to listen to this particular podcast episode–especially if you’re struggling with overcoming habitual sin. Click here to open and subscribe in iTunes, or visit www.fireonyourhead.com directly to view other subscription options for your preferred podcatcher of choice.

We feel that this was one of the most important topics we’ve covered on the show, and encourage sharing this with others you may feel would benefit from it. Don’t forget to check out some of the other excellent discussions on things related to healing the sick with evangelist Joel Crumpton, and strengthening your thought life with Brian Parkman, a teacher at FIRE School of Ministry.

Book Sponsoring

Many of you may remember our fund raising last July to raise money to translate and to print 1500 copies of “A Time For Holy Fire/Es Tiempo para El Fuego Santo” by Dr Michael Brown into Spanish to be given out to many pastors all over Peru. We asked everybody we could if they’d consider donating however little or however much they can towards this cause–giving a powerful revival themed book away to pastors and leaders in this nation, and sowing seeds of the revival we’re laboring to see take place in here, and to the rest of South America.

We want you to know what has happened so far as a result of your giving (at $3.50 per book):

We gave away over three hundred copies alone at a “United in the Fire of God” conference in Lima, Peru this August where pastors and leaders came hungry to see a move of God sweep the nation, and the rest of South America. So far, these books have gone into Argentina, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Columbia, Mexico, and Brazil–where we’ve been asked if we could get the book translated into Portuguese as well. As you can tell, 1500 copies is not a lot, and so far we’ve only been giving it to pastors and leaders so it would impact them first and then their flocks primarily because of limited resources at the moment. We are still being asked by people if we have any more left. So, we’d like to continue impacting people with this book, and we have been given opportunities by the same publisher to print them for less than $3 per copy–less than what we printed the initial batch for. In Peru in particular, many nationals make about that much per day, so you don’t find shelves full of books in their homes. We view what has been accomplished so far into these countries as a plant beginning to penetrate the soil.

Consider, friend, as you read this e-mail or website from your laptop, Blackberry, iPhone–or what have you–how easily blessed you are to be able to read content like we and a host of other solid ministries place on the internet. There’s places God is ready to pour out His Spirit of revival, who are hungry to read and feed on some of the same things you and I do and take for granted. For the price of a cup of coffee, you could help us print books inexpensively to put in those dear saints’ hands.

You will notice on the new site layout, there’s a button showing the Fuego Santo book, or in the near future we may have a prominent link for perpetual giving for this project. There is no deadline for this goal; we continually want to print and distribute these books to believers in all over South America. All the money received into that project account is used for printing more Fuego Santo books, and other works we’re beginning to get translated and will see printed soon! Click here if you’d like to give directly online.

Don’t forget to keep checking the site as we’ll have a video on the right hand sidebar, further demonstrating this impact you could help us to have in this manner.

And finally, we want to thank you for taking time to follow our articles, and sign up for our e-mail updates.

Blessings and fire on your head,
Hope to see you online!

“A man is who he is plus the books he reads.”

The average Peruvian reads 0.4 books per year. Many in the mountains and towns outside of Peru’s capital can’t afford the latest books being pushed on Christian TV & radio that many of us can easily go grab and add to our collections never to be touched again once we’ve finished with them. At a recent trip Fire Peru paid to a Bible school we work in conjunction with in Huachipa, I watched pastors and leaders who graciously shook our hands and hugged us enthusiastically, while clutching and sniffing their Bible school training manuals when they received them for the ‘costly’ price of 10 soles (roughly $3USD) apiece. These pastors and leaders more than appreciated the investment made into their lives and ministries with this material.

We are trying to change the spiritual climate in Peru by helping the leaders in the church, and we need help providing books for pastors. Fire Peru currently works in conjunction with Derek Prince Ministries with the ability to print 7 titles of D.P.M.’s of which we’re giving away upwards of 3000 copies to pastors and leaders at a “United in the Fire of God” conference here in Lima, Peru Aug 13th-15.

With the permission of the author himself, we’ve also had “A Time For Holy Fire” by Dr. Michael L. Brown translated into Spanish, and ready to print. Because of the lack of familiarity in South America with his material, the publisher is giving us a deal and printing the books of Dr Brown’s at cost. We can have 1500 copies of “Es tiempo por el fuego santo” printed, and freely give them away, which is what we intend on doing if we can get the books printed in time for the conference.

The cost is $3.50/book. So far, an anonymous donor has helped us cover the first $2000We still need another $2500.  Most Peruvian pastors don’t go out and buy the latest book recommended from the pulpit. We’re asking everybody we can if they’d consider donating however little or however much they can towards this cause–giving a powerful revival themed book away to pastors and leaders in this nation, and sowing seeds of the revival we’re laboring to see take place in here, and to the rest of South America.

Can you help make that a reality for the cost of a Starbucks cup of coffee (or two Tim Horton’s coffees?) We plan on doing this on a continual basis as the funds come in, but in order to have enough Holy Fire books printed for Aug 13th, we need to raise as much of this initial money as possible.  This book, along with other revival-themed books of Dr Brown’s have had a profound impact on me since the age of about 18, and set me in the direction I went with the revival movement in Florida in the late 90s.  I know personally what this material can ignite in the reader.  This is also the heart behind the Fire on Your Head podcast and blog site–to spread and ignite the fire we’re burning with.

Make sure to put Smith/Peru Book Project in the memo box.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this investment into eternity.

Blessings and fire on your head,

Steve Bremner, on behalf of Fire Peru
